Portfolio Post 12 (Week 4) Beginning Filming
First Few Clips
This weekend we took the liberty to begin filming our opening. Though it ended up being just a small smart I am relieved to have made some tangible progress. Sunday night I filmed the scene with the fan and a few of the skin care clips for the credits. It took some learning to figure out how to work the camera and I have yet to see how the shots came out because I have not downloaded them onto anything from the camera itself; but it seemed to work well. I used my mother's camera which has an zoomed in lens which made me have to readjust at which angle exactly the camera needs to be set up to compensate for the increased point of view. Luckily my mom also has a tripod so I can film some scenes of myself by myself. We were planning on getting together to film but that ended up falling through so we have redrafted plans to meet up this Friday night to film the bulk of it.
We still have not figured out the music, which unfortunately limits what scenes we can film right now. There's nothing for our protagonist to dance to or click the play button so those scenes have gone uncompleted. Any form of copyright free music is instrumental and unheard of. Though as a last measure this would suffice it is not ideal. Obviously, making our music is not in the cards for a realistic solution. We have researched with no resolution into contacting the head quarters of music groups and publishing companies in order to obtain permission but this have proven to be senseless work. My partner suggested today that we should find music from a small time artist because we would be able to contact them a lot more directly and they are lest likely to charge us to use their music. So, tonight's homework is to find a catchy, upbeat song by an underground group.
